By kenny on January 17, 2012 in Electric vans

In 10 weeks at NY Auto Show we’ll get a possibility to see new Mercedes Benz model B-Class E-Cell Plus. This production version will be presented only in the States.
The model is primarily based on the similar platform as B-Class model has. This is a compact and fuel-efficient car, with high mileage and low emissions. Being 70 inches wide, 171 inches in length, 61 inches in height, B-Class E-Cell Plus competes with Toyota Prius Hybrid and Chevrolet Volt. B-Class is only a single unit of the whole lineup of compact cars of Mercedes.
The drag coefficient of this model is 0.26, which makes it more aerodynamic than other models. It is not easy to state about other details, as Mercedes Benz keeps them in secret. In case the concept model presented last year resembles the one we will see in 10 weeks, then we should expect an only electric range of 62 miles, a combination of gasoline-plus-electric range of 372 miles and 93 mph of top speed.
It has been told that this model will be manufactured only for the local market, but this news contradicts the things that we had heard before. The company’s plans are to give a definite quantity of hybrid cars and high-mileage gasoline vehicles to go on sale in the States this year.
