Indian Automaker Surprised With Its Latest Electric Version Tata Emo
By kenny on January 16, 2012 in New e cars

Because of the rapid auto industry development, popular brands often amaze customers not only with their car models, but also their names. Tata Emo is not an exception. It is an antithesis to a well-known group of depressed teenagers, who have the same name.
Tata Emo Electric was built in order to pass all tough federal requirements. The model has a glass roof, a tall and narrow stance, seating for 4 passengers and rear doors, which resemble those of Mazda RX-8. Emo Electric looks much better than Tata Nano.
Despite of the visual similarity of Nano and Emo models, there are no mechanic relations between these two Tata vehicles. Nevertheless, the interiors are alike. Emo Electric has no leather seats, fancy entertainment systems and climate control. All the luxury was scarified because of weight saving.
An electric motor and a battery pack give the model a range of 100 miles with the top speed only 65 mph. The model’s chassis is manufactured of a steel structure, and the outer panels are manufactured of a molded polymer, so they do not require any painting.
Weight savings are a base for financial savings. Besides, Tata Emo Electric can be sold for $ 20 000 or even less. Can this model become popular? Why not? The conception of electric car, which is fun and saves money can become profitable.
