In July of this year Toyota and Tesla announced the creation of a joint venture to manufacture and sell electric cars based on models of Toyota. The first swallow, all-electric RAV4 EV, scheduled for launch on sale in 2012.Reaffirming its seriousness, Toyota will show the electric version of the RAV4 in November at the motor show in Los Angeles. In addition to the second quarter of 2012 Toyota planned to start sales of Prius PHEV.Developing the theme of electric Toyota aims to sell annually about 20 000 such vehicles, directly competing with Chevrolet Volt and Nissan Leaf.
